On Tuesday, the B.C. Lions re-signed veteran defensive back T.J. Lee to a one-year contract extension. Lee was scheduled to be a free agent on February 8th.

T.J. Lee (31 years old) played 14 games in 2021 with 71 tackles, 12 special teams tackles, four interceptions, and one forced fumble. He was named a CFL West All-Star in 2021 for the second time in his career. On November 19th, Lee had two interceptions in the Lions 43-10 win over the Edmonton Elks.

T.J. Lee on returning to the Lions said, “I couldn’t imagine playing my 100th game in a uniform other than Lions orange. This is the best situation for both me and my family, and I can’t wait for the opportunity to help this defense build on some of the good things we did last season. Building that bond with returning players will equal more wins in important games.”

After going undrafted in the 2014 NFL Draft out of Eastern Washington, Lee signed with the B.C. Lions. This will be his eighth season with the Lions. In 94 career games, Lee has 384 tackles, 26 special teams tackles, four sacks, 20 interceptions, one touchdown, and seven forced fumbles.
