BC Lions sign WRs ArDarius Stewart and Josh Pearson

On Thursday, the B.C. Lions signed wide receivers ArDarius Stewart and Josh Pearson to one-year contracts.

ArDarius Stewart spent the 2021 season on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers practice squad. Stewart played 40 games in three seasons (2014-16) at Alabama with 129 catches for 1,713 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Stewart was part of the Crimson Tides 2015 CFP National Championship team and is a three-time SEC champion. The New York Jets drafted Stewart in the third round (79th pick) of the 2017 NFL Draft.

He played 15 games for the Jets with six catches for 82 yards and seven carries for 27-yards. Stewart was released by the Jets twice and later went to the Raiders and Redskins. He signed with the Blue Bombers in 2020, but the season was canceled.

Josh Pearson most recently played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He signed as an undrafted free agent out of Jacksonville State. He played one game for the Buccaneers against the Chicago Bears. He earned a Super Bowl ring just before his release during training camp.

Josh Pearson played 26 games in three seasons (2017-19) at Jacksonville State with 126 catches for 2,066 yards and 30 touchdowns.

 In his junior year, he led the Gamecocks in receiving yards with 67 catches for 1,123 yards and 17 touchdowns. Pearson was named First Team All-American by the Associated Press.
