On Monday, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats re-signed LS Gordon Whyte, LB Jarek Richards, DL Malcolm Campbell, and OL Joseph Bencze.
Gordon Whyte played 14 games on special teams with four tackles and one fumble recovery. The Tiger-Cats drafted Whyte in the eighth round (67th pick) in the 2019 CFL Draft out of St. Francis University.
Jarek Richards played five games in 2021 with one special teams tackle. The Tiger-Cats drafted Richards in the fourth round (36th pick) in the 2021 CFL Draft out of St. Mary’s University.
Malcolm Campbell spent training with the Tiger-Cats in 2019 and 2021. The Tiger-Cats drafted Campbell in the eighth round (65th pick) out of the University of Toronto. In five seasons at Toronto, Campbell had 149 tackles, 19.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries, one blocked kick, and three pass blocks.
Joseph Bencze played one game in 2021 against the BC Lions after spending most of the season on the Tiger-Cats practice squad. The Tiger-Cats drafted Bencze in the fifth round (45th pick) in the 2020 CFL Draft out of McMaster University.
