On Thursday, the Calgary Stampeders locked up offensive lineman Ryan Sceviour to a two-year contract extension through the 2023 season. Sceviour was scheduled to be a free agent next month. This will be Sceviour’s fourth season with the Stampeders.
“I’m really happy to be staying home for two more years,” said Sceviour. “We have a great group of guys on the offensive line, and I’m looking forward to getting back to work with them, with the goal of bringing a championship to Calgary.”
Ryan Sceviour played 11 games in 2021. In 2021, the Stampeders allowed the second-fewest sacks and helped running back Ka’Deem Carey lead the league in rushing touchdowns and second in rushing yards.
Sceviour is the fourth lineman to re-sign with the Stampeders. The Stampeders drafted Sceviour in the first round (8th pick) in the 2018 CFL Draft out the University of Calgary.
Calgary Stampeders President and General Manager John Hufnagel knew it was important to keep Sceviour. “Signing Ryan is another important step in solidifying our offensive line. Ryan has made steady progress over the course of his three seasons with the Stampeders, and I look forward to seeing him further develop his game in the next few seasons.”
Calgary will open the 2022 season on June 9th against the Montreal Alouettes.
