Edmonton Elks bring back WRs Mike Jones and Tevaun Smith

On Thursday, the Edmonton Elks re-signed wide receivers Mike Jones and Tevaun Smith to one-year contract extensions, keeping them through the 2022 season.

Mike Jones played 11 games in 2021 with 29 catches for 394-yards, two touchdowns, and one carry for four yards. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats drafted Jones in the third round (18th pick) in the 2016 CFL Draft out of Southern University.

In 69 career games, Jones had 130 catches for 1,866 yards, six touchdowns, and two carries for 14 yards.

Tevaun Smith played 13 games with 27 catches for 324-yards. The Eskimos/Elks drafted Smith the first round (8th pick) in the 2016 CFL Draft out of Iowa. In 30 career games, Smith has caught 82 passes for 125 yards and six touchdowns.

Before joining the CFL, Smith had stints with the Indianapolis Colts, Oakland Raiders, and Jacksonville Jaguars from 2016 to 2018.
