Edmonton Elks signs OL Matt Womack and DL Kingsley Opara

On Friday, the Edmonton Elks signed offensive lineman Matt Womack and defensive lineman Kingsley Opara to one-year contracts.

Matt Womack went undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft. He played 41 career games in four seasons (2016-19) at Alabama.

During his four seasons, the Crimson Tide won the SEC championship two-time (2016, 2018) and won the 2017 CFP National Championship over Clemson 35-31.

Kingsley Opara recently was with the Montreal Alouettes. In 2019, Opara suited up for one game with the Toronto Argonauts.

Opara went undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft out of Maryland and signed with the Houston Texans. He played in two preseason games with the Texans and recorded three tackles.

Kingsley Opara played 36 career games at the University of Maryland (2015-17) with 83 tackles, 4.5 sacks, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.
