On Saturday, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats released fullback Nikola Kalinic to pursue an opportunity in the NFL. Kalinic played two seasons with the Tiger-Cats.
Nikola Kalinic played 14 games in 2021 with 11 catches for 86 yards and one touchdown. The Tiger-Cats drafted Kalinic in the second round (10th pick) in the 2019 CFL Draft out of York University.
In his four years at York University (2015-18), Kalinic caught 38 passes for 416 yards and two touchdowns. He was the first York player named OUA All-Star twice in one season (on offense and special teams).
Since the conclusion of the 2021 season, Kalinic has worked out for several NFL teams, including the Indianapolis Colts, New York Giants, Tennessee Titans, Green Bay Packers, New Orleans Saints, and the Seattle Seahawks.
