Henoc Muamba re-signs with the Toronto Argonauts

On Tuesday, the Toronto Argonauts re-signed linebacker Henoc Muamba to a one-year contract extension through the 2022 season.

Henoc Muamba played ten games in his first season with the Argonauts in 2021. Muamba had 49 tackles, two special teams tackles, two sacks, and one interception.

Muamba played 118 games in his nine-year career with 517 tackles, 77 special teams tackles, 14 sacks, six interceptions, one touchdown, and 14 forced fumbles. Muamba is a two-time CFL All-Star (2013, 2019), three-time CFL East All-Star (2013, 2018, 2019), 2013 Lew Hayman Trophy, and a 2019 Most Outstanding Canadian Award.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers drafted Muamba as the number one overall pick in the 2011 CFL Draft out of St. Francis Xavier University. Muamba played three seasons (2011-13) with the Blue Bombers before being released for an opportunity in the NFL.

Muamba signed with the Indianapolis Colts and played 13 games with 3.5 tackles. He went to the CFL, signing with the Montreal Alouettes. He played one season (2015) with the Alouettes before returning to the NFL for the Dallas Cowboys.

He was released on the final day in training camp. Muamba returned to the CFL with the Saskatchewan Roughriders (2016-17) and the Montreal Alouettes (2018-20).
