On Monday, the Montreal Alouettes re-signed defensive lineman Nick Usher to a one-year contract extension. This will be Usher’s second season with the Alouettes.
Nick Usher played 14 games in 2021 with 35 tackles, five sacks, and one forced fumble.
On re-signing Usher, Montreal Alouettes General Manager Danny Maciocia said, “Nick was a great addition to our team in 2021. On top of bringing his contagious smile in our locker room, he was an important cog in our defensive front, forcing opposing quarterbacks to get rid of the ball much faster than they would have wanted.”
Usher played 26 games in two seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos (2018-19), tallying 43 tackles, three special teams tackles, seven sacks, and four forced fumbles.
Before coming to the CFL, Usher played 49 games in four seasons (2013-16) at UTEP with 179 tackles, 12 sacks, three passes defended, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and two blocks.
