Winnipeg Blue Bombers bring back veteran LS Mike Benson

On Monday, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers re-signed veteran long snapper Mike Benson to a one-year contract extension. Benson was scheduled to be a free agent on February 8th.

Mike Benson played 14 games in his first season with the Blue Bombers, helping them win the 108th Grey Cup championship.

Benson played in 103 games that started in 2012 with the Edmonton Eskimos. From 2014-18, he played for the BC Lions and one season with the Ottawa Redblacks in 2019.

Mike Benson played U Sports at the University of Arcadia and the CJFL for the Winnipeg Rifles.
