On Tuesday, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers released offensive lineman Drew Desjarlais to pursue an opportunity in the NFL. Desjarlais was scheduled to be a free agent on February 8th.
Drew Desjarlais played 14 games in 2021, helping the Blue Bombers win their second straight Grey Cup championship. The Blue Bombers drafted Desjarlais in the first round (4th pick) in the 2019 CFL Draft out of Windsor and played 32 games.
The Blue Bombers finished second in the league with 22.3 (PPG), and second in passing with 263 completions for 3,438 yards, 21 touchdowns, and ten interceptions.
The Blue Bombers’ offense helped the running backs finish first in rushing with 319 carries for 1,676 yards and 14 touchdowns.
