On Wednesday, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers re-signed defensive back Mercy Maston to a one-year contract.
Mercy Maston (29-years-old) missed the 2021 season with a torn ACL suffered in training camp. This will be Maston’s third season with the Blue Bombers.
From 2017-18, Maston played 19 games for the Edmonton Eskimos with 57 tackles, eight special teams tackles, and two interceptions. He was released to pursue an opportunity in the NFL and signed with the Philadelphia Eagles.
In 2019, he signed with Blue Bombers, playing three games with 12 tackles and one special teams tackle.
Maston played 25 games in two seasons at Boise State (2013,2015) with 71 tackles, one interception, six pass breakups, and two forced fumbles. He missed the 2014 season with a stress fracture on both of his legs.
