Montreal Alouettes sign QB Dominique Davis, releases QB Matthew Shiltz

On Friday, the Montreal Alouettes signed former Ottawa Redblacks quarterback Dominique Davis and LB Josh Harvey-Clemons to one-year contracts. The team also released quarterback Matthew Shiltz, who is scheduled to be a free agent next week.

Dominique Davis (32 years old) played six games in 2021 for the Ottawa Redblacks with 59 completions for 674-yards, three touchdowns, four interceptions, 17 carries for 69-yards, and one touchdown.

In the 2012 NFL Draft out of East Carolina, Davis went undrafted and signed with the Atlanta Falcons. He also had stints with the Titans and Colts.

In 2015, Davis made the jump to the CFL with the Calgary Stampeders. He was released during training camp and signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Davis spent three seasons in Winnipeg before heading to Ottawa. In 88 career games, Davis has 316 completions for 3,640 yards, 11 touchdowns, 19 interceptions, 104 carries for 323-yards, and 13 touchdowns.

Matthew Shiltz (29 years old) played 11 games in 2021 with 49 of 78 completions for 760-yards, three touchdowns, two interceptions, 18 carries for 85-yards, and one touchdown.

Shiltz spent four seasons with the Alouettes playing 50 games with 145 of 237 completions for 1,866 yards, eight touchdowns, 11 interceptions, 50 carries for 313 yards and two touchdowns.

Josh Harvey-Clemons (27 years old) recently played 35 games for the Washington Redskins/Football Team with 40 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and four pass blocks. In college, Clemons spent his first two seasons at Georgia before transferring to Louisville. He played 23 games in two seasons for the Cardinals with 149 tackles, three sacks, three interceptions, eight pass blocks, and one forced fumble.

In addition, the Alouettes signed linebacker Jordan Williams (Baylor) and OL Brian Fineanganofo (Idaho State).
