Winnipeg Blue Bombers re-signs DB Nick Taylor and RB Brady Oliveira

On Monday, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers re-signed defensive back Nick Taylor and running back Brady Oliveira. Both players were scheduled to be free agents tomorrow.

Nick Taylor (33-years-old) played 12 games in 2021 with 31 tackles. This will be Taylor’s third season in Winnipeg. Nick Taylor’s played 12 games in two seasons for the Blue Bombers with 36 tackles, one interception, and one touchdown. Taylor helped the Blue Bombers win back-to-back Grey Cup championships.

Nick Taylor attended Florida International but never played college football. Instead, he played basketball at point guard. However, after college, the Minnesota Vikings signed him as an undrafted free agent. Taylor suffered a shoulder injury and was released.

In 2015, Taylor played for the Orlando Predators in the Arena Football League. Making 87 tackles, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, four interceptions, and one touchdown.

In 2016, Taylor signed with the Ottawa Redblacks and played 17 games in two seasons with 62 tackles, one special teams tackle, one forced fumble, one interception, and one touchdown.

In 2018, Taylor signed with the Edmonton Eskimos, playing 18 games in two seasons with 46 tackles, two special teams tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble.

Brady Oliveira (24-years-old) played 13 games in 2021 with 94 carries for 429-yards, two touchdowns, and nine catches for 74-yards. In two seasons in Winnipeg, Oliveira played 15 games with 94 carries for 429 yards, two touchdowns, and nine catches for 74 yards, helping the Blue Bombers win the 108th Grey Cup championship. He is a two-time Grey Cup champion.

The Blue Bombers drafted Oliveira in the second round (14th pick) in the 2019 CFL Draft from North Dakota. Oliveira played 42 games in four seasons (2015-18) at North Dakota with 500 carries for 2,822 yards, 22 touchdowns, and 25 catches for 241 yards.
