On Monday, the Calgary Stampeders re-signed defensive back Raheem Wilson to a one-year contract extension. Wilson was scheduled to be a free agent.
Raheem Wilson (28-years-old) played 14 games in 2021 with 52 tackles, one special teams tackle, one interception, and five pass breakups.
Raheem Wilson on returning to Calgary said, “It is written. Calgary is where I wanted to be, and now, I’m looking forward to getting back in McMahon.”
Wilson’s played 32 games in two seasons with 88 tackles, two special teams tackles, three interceptions, one forced fumble, and 13 pass breakups.
Raheem has been a dependable and versatile player for us since his arrival in Calgary,” said John Hufnagel, President and General Manager of the Stampeders. “His return strengthens our depth in the secondary and provides us with some good options at the defensive back position heading into training camp.”
In addition to Wilson, the Stampeders signed DB Antonio Phillips (Ball State). Phillips recently tried out for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2021. At Ball State, he played 39 games with 137 tackles, eight interceptions, one forced fumble, and 26 pass breakups.
