On Wednesday, the BC Lions signed former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Sheldon Gibson to a one-year contract. In addition to Gibson, the Lions signed running back Michael Warren.

Sheldon Gibson (27-years-old) recently was with the Carolina Panthers practice squad. The Philadelphia Eagles drafted Gibson in the fifth round (166th pick) in the 2017 NFL Draft from West Virginia. In his first stint with the Eagles, Gibson played 20 games in two seasons (2017-18) with three catches for 59 yards.

After the Eagles released Gibson, he joined the Cleveland Browns and was placed on their practice squad. The Eagles signed him off the Browns’ practice squad before their 2019 playoff games against the Seattle Seahawks. He had one target that drew a penalty.

After his second stint with the Eagles ended, Gibson would sign with the Washington Football Team on September 7th, 2020, but was released ten days later.

Gibson played 38 games in three seasons (2014-16) at West Virginia with 84 catches for 1,898 yards, 17 touchdowns, and two carries for 29 yards.

Michael Warren (23-years-old) tried out for the Detroit Lions training camp in 2021. In 2020, Warren signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent from Cincinnati but was released at the end of training camp.

Warren played 38 games in three seasons (2017-19) at Cincinnati with 559 carries for 2,918 yards, 34 touchdowns, 51 catches for 442 yards, and three touchdowns. He is a two-time Second Team All-AAC.

In the 2018 Military Bowl, Warren had 20 carries for 166-yards and two touchdowns in the Bearcats’ 35-31 win over Virginia Tech Hokies and was named the Military Bowl MVP.
