Saskatchewan Roughriders signs former UAB wide receiver Xavier Ubosi

On Wednesday, the Saskatchewan Roughriders signed former Blazers wide receiver Xavier Ubosi to a one-year contract.

Xavier Ubosi (27-years-old) tried out for the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent from UAB. Ubosi tried out for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Jets.

Ubosi went to Pierce College for two seasons (2015-16), catching 31 passes for 658-yards and nine touchdowns. He transferred to UAB and played in 26 games for two seasons (2017-18) with 48 catches for 1,065 yards and nine touchdowns.

In the 2018 Boca Raton Bowl, Ubosi caught seven passes for 227 yards and three touchdowns in UAB’s 37-13 win over Northern Illinois. He was named the Boca Raton Bowl MVP.
