On Wednesday, the Montreal Alouettes signed defensive back Debione Renfro to a two-year contract and defensive lineman Qaadir Sheppard.

Debione Renfro (23-years-old) spent part of the 2021 season on the Edmonton Elks practice squad. He had a tryout for the Seattle Seahawks in 2020.

Renfro played 37 games in three seasons (2017-19) at Texas A&M with 124 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 14 pass breakups, four forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. In the 2019 Texas Bowl, Renfro made four tackles, helping the Aggies defeat Oklahoma State 24-21.

Qaadir Sheppard (25-years-old) was with the Calgary Stampeders in 2021 but did not play a game. He played nine games in one season (2015) at Syracuse with one tackle and one interception.

After Syracuse, Sheppard transferred to Ole Miss and had to sit out a year before playing. He played 27 games in three seasons (2017-19) with 81 tackles, 1.5 sacks, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.

The Alouettes also announced they released DB Prince Charles Iworah. The 28-year-old from Nashville, Tennessee, was with the Montreal Alouettes in 2021. However, he was placed on the suspended list to play for the Conquerors of The Spring League. Before joining the Alouettes, he was with Team 9 in 2020, a practice squad for the XFL.

The San Francisco 49ers drafted Iworah in the seventh round (249th pick) of the 2016 NFL Draft from Western Kentucky. He played one game for the 49ers in 2016 with one tackle.

Iworah would have brief stints with the Kansas City Chiefs, Washington Redskins, and Atlanta Falcons.
