The Dunlop Super2 Series kicked off the 2022 season with race one of the Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight at Sydney Motorsports Park. Matthew Payne started the race on the pole but finished in fourth place.
Jaylyn Robotham started in fourth place. He passed both Zak Best and Matthew Payne for the lead on the ninth lap and never looked back. Robotham went on to win his first race of the season by 3.361 seconds over Zak Best.
The rest of the top ten finishers were Thomas Maxwell, Matthew Payne, Aaron Seton, Declan Fraser, Cameron Hill, Zane Morse, Cameron Crick, and Matthew Chahda.
