There was a scary incident in the second period when Kole Lund shoved Jackson Cates on the breakaway, and he slammed headfirst into the boards. He was loaded on a stretcher and taken to a local hospital. Cates did give a thumbs-up to the crowd.
In an update, Flyers Assistant GM Brent Flahr said, “Jackson was transported to the hospital for further tests. He will be held overnight for further evaluations.”
The Phantoms are on the road Tuesday night against the Hershey Bears from the Giant Center at 7 pm.
