Lehigh Valley Phantoms

The Lehigh Valley Phantoms (18-23-7-3) dropped their fifth straight game Saturday night to close out the three-game homestand with game two against the Charlotte Checkers (29-21-3) at the PPL Center.

The Phantoms goal happened in the third period with Cal O’Reilly (13) at 2:18 and Morgan Frost (6) at 8:46. For the complete recap of the game, click here.

There was a scary incident in the second period when Kole Lund shoved Jackson Cates on the breakaway, and he slammed headfirst into the boards. He was loaded on a stretcher and taken to a local hospital. Cates did give a thumbs-up to the crowd.

In an update, Flyers Assistant GM Brent Flahr said, “Jackson was transported to the hospital for further tests. He will be held overnight for further evaluations.”

The Phantoms are on the road Tuesday night against the Hershey Bears from the Giant Center at 7 pm.
