The Reading Royals (30-12-6-1) won their seventh straight game 4-2 Saturday night at the Santander Arena against the Wheeling Nailers (29-21-1).
Twenty-one seconds into the first period, Jackson Cressey put the Royals up 1-0. It was the only goal scored in the first period.
In the second period, Wheeling forward Tim Doherty scored at 4:40, tying the game 1-1. At 14:29, Josh Maniscalco put the Nailers up 2-1.
In the third period, Royals forward Brayden Low scored at 6:36, tying the game 2-2. At 9:11, Kenny Hausinger put the Royals up 3-2. With two minutes left, Ryan MacKinnon sealed the game for the Royals 4-2.
The Royals finished the night with 27 shots, 0/3 on the power-play, and Kirill Ustimenko made 20-22 saves.
The Royals play the Adirondack Thunder from the Santander Arena on Wednesday at 7 pm.
