On Wednesday, the Montreal Alouettes signed offensive lineman Kwabena Asare and defensive back Kenneth Durden to one-year contracts.
Kwabena Asare (30-years-old) tried out for the Calgary Stampeders in 2021. He spent three seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos/Elks. Edmonton drafted Asare in the sixth round (49th pick) in the 2017 CFL Draft from Carleton University.
Asare played five seasons (2012-16) at Carleton University, helping the Ravens finish third in rushing (1,733 yards) in his senior year and helping running back Jayde Rowe in rushing (136.8 YPG). The Ravens named Asare outstanding lineman of the year in 2013 and 2014.
Kenneth Durden (29-years-old) spent two seasons (2016-17) on the Oakland Raiders practice squad and three seasons (2017-19) with the Tennessee Titans, playing five games.
Durden played 19 games in three seasons (2011-13) at South Florida with 42 tackles, six pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. He transferred to Youngstown State for one season (2014), playing 11 games with 22 tackles, five pass breakups, and one interception.
