Hamilton Tiger-Cats adds DL Sterling Johnson

On Wednesday, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats added former Coastal Carolina defensive lineman Sterling Johnson.

Sterling Johnson (24-years-old) tried out for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2021 and the New York Jets in 2020.

A native of Clayton, North Carolina, Johnson began his collegiate career at Clemson University, playing 12 games in three seasons (2016-18) with 14 tackles and two sacks. Johnson is a member of the 2016 and 2018 CFP National Championship teams.

After Clemson, Johnson transferred to Coastal Carolina, playing 23 games in two seasons (2018-19) with 65 tackles, 6.5 sacks, two pass breakups, and two blocks on special teams.

In 2019, he was named Phil Steele Sun Belt Conference All-Conference Third Team and All-Sun Belt Third Team.
