On Monday, the Ottawa Redblacks signed former offensive lineman Randy Richards.
Randy Richards (31-years-old) last played in 2019 for the Toronto Argonauts. Shortly after signing with the Edmonton Elks, Richards retired on June 24th, 2021.
Richards played 39 games for Saskatchewan Roughriders (2 games), Calgary Stampeders (25 games), and Toronto Argonauts (12 games).
In 2018, Richards played ten games, helping the Stampeders win the 2018 Grey Cup championship over the Ottawa Redblacks.
Before coming to the CFL, Richards tried out for the San Diego Chargers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2013. Richards played 22 games in two seasons (2011-12) at Missouri State.
In his senior year, Richards was named All-MVFC second-team offensive lineman. The offense surrendered 15 sacks in 2012 while averaging 327.5 yards per game.
Richards spent his first two years at the College of the Sequoias, helping them to the CAA Bulldog Bowl. In 2010, he was named Offensive Lineman of the Year.
