The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, native wide receiver Jamal Custis on Thursday.

Jamal Custis (26-years-old) tried out for the BC Lions in 2021. Before the CFL, Custis tried out for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2019 and spent most of the 2020 season on the Pittsburgh Steelers practice squad.

Custis played four seasons at Syracuse University (2014-18) with 64 catches for 1,048 yards and eight touchdowns in 40 games.

In 2018, Custis was named to the All-ACC Second Team, All-ECAC First Team selection, and the winner of the program’s Bill Maxwell Award as the most improved player on offense.

In the 2018 Camping World Bowl, Custis caught five passes for 80-yards as the Orange beat the West Virginia Mountaineers 34-18.
