On Monday, the Saskatchewan Roughriders brought back defensive back A.J. Hendy.
A.J. Hendy played fourteen games with 14 tackles, seven special team tackles, and one interception before he was released on November 25th, 2021.
Hendy played four seasons at Maryland (2011-13, 2015) with 142 tackles, two interceptions, nine pass breakups, and four fumble recoveries. He went undrafted in 2016 and signed with the Miami Dolphins. He played one game for the Dolphins on special teams.
In addition, Hendy spent time on the practice squad for the Los Angeles Chargers and Houston Texans. In 2020, Hendy played five games for the New York Guardians (XFL) with 26 tackles. However, after five weeks, the XFL shut down due to COVID-19, and his contract was terminated.
He joined the Roughriders in 2020, but the season was canceled due to COVID-19. Hendy opted back in his contract with the Roughriders in December 2020.
