Lehigh Valley Phantoms

On Thursday, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms made three separate transactions. First, the Phantoms recalled forward Alex Kile from the Maine Mainers (ECHL). Then, the Phantoms loaned forward Brennan Saulnier to the Reading Royals (ECHL). Finally, the Philadelphia Flyers recalled goalie Felix Sandstrom under emergency conditions.

This year, Alex Kile (27-years-old) scored three goals and two assists (5 points) with the Phantoms. He was sent back to Maine last week after recovering from an injury. His last game was on February 20th, against the Springfield Thunderbirds, where he had one shot on goal. With the Maine Mariners, Kile scored nine goals and nine assists (18 points) this year.

Kile played four seasons at Michigan (2013-16), scoring 40 goals and 40 assists (80 points) in 130 games. Kile has played 205 games in the ECHL with 78 goals and 90 assists (168 points) in five seasons with Cincinnati, Florida, and Maine. In the AHL, Kile has 11 goals and five assists (16 points) in 67 games with Harford, Laval, Utica, and Rochester.

Brennan Saulnier (28-years-old) has three goals and three assists (6 points) in 43 games. Saulnier has seven goals and six assists (13 points) in 59 games with the Phantoms. However, Saulnier has not helped the Phantoms as he leads the team with 88 penalty minutes.

Saulnier is no stranger to the ECHL. He played four seasons with 24 goals and 24 assists (48 points) in 61 games with the Rapid City Rush.

Felix Sandstrom (25-years-old) 12-16-3-1 with a .896 SV% and 3.11 GAA in 36 games. Sandstrom backed up Martin Jones on Tuesday night against the Minnesota Wild. In his fourth year with the Phantoms, Sandstrom is 18-19-6-1 with a .899 SV% and 3.10 GAA.

Before the Phantoms, Sandstrom played 25 games for the Reading Royals with a record of 13-11-1, a .885 SV%, and allowed 3.27 GAA. Sandstrom made his Flyers debut back on December 29th against the San Jose Sharks with 43 of 46 saves in an overtime loss.

The Phantoms return to the PPL Center tomorrow night against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at 7:05 pm. Tickets for the game can be purchased courtesy of our friends at StubHub.
