Ottawa Redblacks signs DB Jomon Dotson and DL Trevon Young

The Ottawa Redblacks signed former Nevada defensive back Jomon Dotson and former Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman Trevon Young on Thursday.

Jomon Dotson was with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats for two seasons. The Tiger-Cats released him in July 2021. A native of Vallejo, California, Dotson played three seasons at Washington (2015-17).

He played running back in his first two seasons with 75 carries for 302-yards, one touchdown, five catches for 86-yards, and one touchdown. In 2017, he switched to defensive back with 14 tackles, one pass breakup, and one interception in 33 games.

After graduating from Washington, Dotson transferred to Nevada (2018) for his senior making 75 tackles, two interceptions, eight pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.

Trevon Young spent two seasons with the Cleveland Browns (2019-20) on the practice squad. The Los Angeles Rams drafted Young in the sixth round (205th pick) in the 2018 NFL Draft. Young played two games for the Rams (2018) with one fumble recovery.

The Des Moines, Iowa, native played one season at Iowa Western Community College (2013) with 44 tackles and 13.5 sacks. He was named to the First Team All-Midwestern Football Conference after the team went 11-1 and defeated Butler in the Graphic Edge Bowl.

After Iowa Western, Young transferred to Louisville for three seasons (2014-15, 2017) with 101 tackles, 15 sacks, two interceptions, eight pass breakups, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one block on special teams in 36 games.
