On Wednesday night, the Reading Royals (40-16-7-2) returned to the Santander Arena against the Adirondack Thunder (26-37-3).
Three minutes into the first period, Reading forward Kevin Conley (1) scored a power-play goal that put the Royals up 1-0. Thomas Ebbing and Jacob Pritchard assisted Conley’s goal. At 13:04, Patrick Bajkov (23) extended the Royals lead to 2-0 with an assist from Trevor Gooch.
In the second period, Royals defenseman Mason Millman (7) scored to make it 3-0 with assists from Kevin Conley and Brayden Low. At 15:51, the Thunder ended the shutout 3-1 on a shorthand goal by Shane Harper (20).
Fifty-seven seconds into the third period, Thunder forward Luke Stevens (6) cut the Royals lead 3-2. Then, at 8:14, Patrick Bajkov (24) scored a power-play goal that made it 4-2. It was his second goal of the game. Mason Millman and Trevor Gooch assisted Bajkov’s goal.
At 17:56, Patrick Grasso (24) made it a one-goal game 4-3, with assists from Blake Thompson and Luke Stevens. The Royals held on for a 4-3 win over the Adirondack Thunder.
The Royals finished the night with 28 shots, 2/3 on the power-play, and Logan Flodell made 25 of 28 saves.
