The Philadelphia Eagles signed former Oregon Ducks wide receiver and two-time Olympian Devon Allen on Friday.
Devon Allen (27-years-old) impressed the Eagles at a recent Oregon Pro Day. Allen had not played football in six years due to an injury.
In football, Allen played three seasons with the Oregon Ducks (2014-16). He caught 54 passes for 919 yards, eight touchdowns, and four carries for 34 yards in 29 games. Allen had eight kick returns for 209 yards on special teams. In 2014, he helped the Ducks win the Pac-12 championship.
Besides football, Allen was a track star at Oregon. In 2014, he won the NCAA championship in the 110 meters hurdles. Allen is a three-time U.S. National champion in the 110 meters hurdles (2014, 2016, and 2018).
In addition, Allen reached the finals twice in the 2016 Rio De Janeiro and the 2020 Tokyo Games. Last year, Allen became the thirteenth American hurdler to break the 13-second barrier with a time of 12.99 seconds, his personal best.
The Eagles have brought in players and personnel from Oregon in the last ten years. In 2013, they hired Chip Kelly and had Kiko Alonzo and Kenyon Barner on their team.
