On Tuesday, the Edmonton Elks signed former Idaho Vandals quarterback Michael Beaudry. The Elks also released defensive back Eric Blake.
Michael Beaudry (24-years-old) went 73-122 completions for 794-yards, three touchdowns, three interceptions, 25 carries for 97-yards, and one touchdown in four games.
Beaudry started his collegiate career at West Florida (2017-18), completing 268-489 for 3,224-yards, 29 touchdowns, 13 interceptions, 97 for 83-yards, and two touchdowns in 15 games. In 2017, he led West Florida to the D2 National Championship after going 10-4 for the season. He was named Second Team All-America honors.
After West Florida, Beaudry played one season (2019) at UConn, completing 53 of 83 passes for 503-yards, one touchdown, two interceptions, 21 carries for -73-yards, and one touchdown in five games before suffering an injury.
Eric Blake (26-years-old) had four tackles and four tackles on special teams in 2021 with the Elks. The Elks drafted Blake in the eighth round (67th pick) in the 2019 CFL Draft.
Blake played five seasons (2015-19) at McMaster with 164 tackles, 10.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, five interceptions, and five pass breakups in 46 games.
