Winnipeg Blue Bombers re-signs former Rutgers WR Janarion Grant

On Wednesday, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers re-signed former Rutgers wide receiver Janarion Grant to a one-year contract extension. In addition, the Blue Bombers signed former Western Kentucky wide receiver Lucky Jackson.

Janarion Grant (28-years-old) played six games for the Blue Bombers in 2021 on special teams. He had 12 kickoff returns for 283-yards, 34 punt returns for 375-yards, and one touchdown. In 17 career games, Grant has two catches for six yards, 75 punt returns for 966-yards, four touchdowns, and 37 kick returns for 883-yards on special teams.

Grant signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 2018. He played two games on special teams with two kick returns for 56-yards and seven punt returns for 52-yards. After the Ravens, he spent time with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats practice squad in 2019.

Grant played five seasons at Rutgers University (2013-17) with 99 catches for 1,062-yards, two touchdowns, 36 carries for 344-yards, and four touchdowns in 49 games.

Grant had 115 kick returns for 2,857-yards, five touchdowns, 52 punt returns for 588-yards, and three touchdowns on special teams. Grant was a 2013 Second Team All-American Athletic Conference, 2015 Second Team All-Big Ten, and 2015 Rutgers Special Teams MVP.

Lucky Jackson (24-years-old) played four seasons at Western Kentucky (2016-19) with 209 catches for 2,680-yards, 13 touchdowns, seven carries for 65-yards, and one touchdown.

In the 2019 First Responders Bowl, Jackson had 17 catches for 148-yards, and one touchdown, helping the Hilltoppers beat the Western Michigan Broncos 23-20. Jackson was named the MVP.
