The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (3-5) were back at Polar Park Wednesday night for game two against the Worcester Red Sox (7-1).
Colton Eastman (0-0, 0.00 ERA) was on the mound for the IronPigs against Connor Seabold (0-0, 4.91 ERA) for the Red Sox.
In the bottom of the second inning, with a runner on first base, Red Sox third baseman Grant Williams doubled on a line drive to left field, scoring a run that put Worcester up 1-0.
Moving ahead to the bottom of the fifth inning, IronPigs starter Colton Eastman gave up a hit and walked two batters to load the bases. Jakob Hernandez replaced Eastman.
Then, Red Sox center fielder Rob Refsnyder doubled on a line drive to center field, scoring three runs for a 4-0 lead.
Up next for the Red Sox was first baseman Tristian Cases. He singled on a line drive to right field, scoring two more runs, and the Red Sox blew the game open 6-0.
At the top of the sixth inning, the IronPigs ended the shutout when shortstop Nick Maton hit a solo home run out to right-center field, cutting the Red Sox lead 6-1.
The Red Sox would get the run back in the bottom of the seventh inning on a solo home run out to right field by first baseman Tristian Cases.
At the top of the eighth inning, with a runner on second base, IronPigs left fielder Jorge Bonifacio singled on a line drive to left field, scoring a run, but the IronPigs trailed 7-2.
At the top of the ninth inning, Red Sox pitcher Derek Holland closed out the game. IronPigs right fielder Jon Andreoli hit a solo home run out to left-center field for a 7-3 Red Sox lead. Holland got the last three outs that ended the game, and the Red Sox won 7-3.
The win went to Red Sox starter Connor Seabold (5.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 SO), and the loss went to IronPigs starter Colton Eastman (4.0 IP, 4 H, 5 ER, 3 BB, 3 SO).
