The Reading Royals (45-17-9) closed out the regular season Saturday night with a 1-0 win at the Santander Arena against the Adirondack Thunder (27-39-4).
There were no goals scored in the first period. Five minutes and fifty-eight seconds into the second period, Royals forward Kevin Conley (2) scored to make it 1-0. Kenny Hausinger and Garrett Cecere assisted Conley’s goal.
The Royals’ defense stepped up when the Thunder pulled goalie Conor O’Brien for an extra attacker and won the game 1-0.
The Royals finished the game with 35 shots, 0/5 on the power-play, and Hayden Hawkey stopped all 23 shots.
