On Tuesday, the Toronto Argonauts released wide receiver Daniel Braverman.
Daniel Braverman (28-years-old) played four games for Toronto with 15 catches for 152 yards. Braverman had 16 punt returns for 63 yards, ten kick returns for 228 yards, and one missed field goal return for 23 yards on special teams.
The Miramar, Florida, native played three seasons at Western Michigan (2012, 2014-15) with 212 catches for 2,499 yards, 19 touchdowns, 12 carries for 76 yards and two touchdowns. He missed the 2013 season due to a torn right anterior cruciate ligament. In 2014, he was named Third Team All-MAC.
The Chicago Bears drafted Braverman in the seventh round (230th pick) in the 2016 NFL Draft. However, he was part of the final cuts in training camp and was brought back to the practice squad. He was promoted to the active roster and played three games on special teams.
Braverman spent time on the practice squad with the Kansas City Chiefs and Arizona Cardinals. After signing with the San Antonio Commanders (AAF) on April 1st, the league suspended operations the next day, and Braverman signed with the Calgary Stampeders.
Once again, Braverman was on the Stampeders’ practice squad and was released in November 2018. In 2020, he tried out for St. Louis Battlehawks (XFL) but was placed on injured reserve and released on March 4th, 2020.
