Lehigh Valley Phantoms signs Audubon, New Jersey native Colin Felix

On Wednesday, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms signed former UMass defenseman Colin Felix. Felix will begin his Phantoms’ career in the 2022-23 season.

Colin Felix (23-years-old) was an assistant captain at UMass with two goals and eight assists (10 points) in 36 games in the 2021-22 season. In four seasons at UMass (2018-21), Felix has four goals and 38 assists (42 points) in 140 games.

In the 2021 NCAA Frozen Four Championship game, UMass beat St. Cloud State 5-0 to win the national championship at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA. It was the Minutemen’s first title in history. The Minutemen were runner-ups in the 2019 championship against Minnesota-Duluth.

Before UMass, Felix played one season for the Janesville Jets (NAHL) in 2016-17 with two goals and ten assists (12 points), and the Madison Capitols (USHL) in 2017-18 with eight goals and 19 assists (27 points) in 56 games.

Colin Felix is very familiar with the Phantoms. His dad Chris was the head athletic trainer for the then Philadelphia Phantoms from 1996to 2004. As a kid, Felix attended many Phantoms’ games and practices. In 2019, Colin participated in the Flyers Development Camp.
