On Friday night, the Reading Royals (2-0) took game two of the ECHL playoffs in a 3-0 win over the Maine Mariners (0-2) at the Santander Arena.
Four minutes and twenty-nine seconds into the first period, the Royals took a 1-0 lead on a power-play goal by Trevor Gooch (1) with assists from Frank DiChiara and Patrick McNally. It was the only goal scored in the first period.
Five minutes and twenty-six seconds into the second period, the Royals extended their lead 2-0 on a power-play goal by Kenny Hausinger (2) with assists from Frank DiChiara and Patrick Bajkov.
Twenty-nine seconds later, the Royals made it 3-0 on a goal by forward Frank DiChiara (1) with assists from Jacob Pritchard and Dominic Cormier.
There were no goals scored in the third period, and the Royals won 3-0. They now lead the Maine Mariners 2-0 in the series.
The Royals finished the night with 20 shots, 2/4 on the power-play, and Logan Flodell made 32 saves.
