The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed former San Jose State defensive back Jermaine Kelly on Thursday.

Jermaine Kelly (27-years-old) attended training camp for the BC Lions in 2021. The Houston Texans drafted the San Bernardino, California, native in the seventh round (222nd pick) in the 2018 NFL Draft. He never played a game for the Texans due to injury. Then, Kelly spent two seasons on the San Francisco 49ers practice squad.

Jermaine Kelly started his collegiate career at Washington (2013-14), playing two games in 2014 with five tackles.

After Washington, Kelly transferred to San Jose State (2015-17) with 79 tackles, 18 pass breakups, two fumble recoveries, one interception, and one touchdown in 25 games. He concluded his collegiate career by playing in the 2018 FBS All-American Spiral Tropical Bowl.
