The Philadelphia Eagles moved up to the 13th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft to take Georgia defensive tackle Jordan Davis on Thursday from Las Vegas, Nevada. The Eagles traded picks 15, 124, 162, and 166 to the Houston Texans.
Jordan Davis (22-years-old) had 32 tackles, two sacks, and one pass breakup in 15 games in 2021, helping Georgia win its first National Championship since 1980. After his senior year, he won the Chuck Bednarik Award (best defensive player), Outland Trophy (best interior lineman), a Unanimous All-American, and First Team All-SEC.
A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Davis played four seasons at Georgia with 91 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks, one pass breakup, and one block on special teams. During the NFL Combine, Davis ran a 4.78 40-yard dash, a 32 vertical jump, and a broad jump of 123. Adding Davis to the front four gives the Eagles a much-needed boost.
Last year, the Eagles’ defense had 1,263 tackles, 29 sacks, 56 pass breakups, 12 interceptions, two touchdowns, 15 forced fumbles, and four fumble recoveries.
