Winnipeg Blue Bombers signs RB Shane Simpson and OL Dennis Bardwell

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed former Towson running back Shane Simpson and former Houston offensive lineman Dennis Bardwell.

Shane Simpson (24-years-old) played five seasons at Towson (2015-18) with 376 carries for 1,925-yards, 13 touchdowns, 61 catches for 184-yards, and six touchdowns. In 2016, he was named All-CAA First-Team CAA Offensive Rookie of the Year and ECAC Offensive Rookie of the Year. Injuries cost him in 2015 and 2019.

He was granted a sixth year and transferred to Virginia (2019), playing ten games with 54 carries for 284-yards, two touchdowns, 13 catches for 133-yards, and one touchdown.

Dennis Bardwell (23-years-old) spent four seasons at Houston (2016-20), playing in 23 games at tackle. In 2017, he helped Houston to six rushing touchdowns and 272-yards on the ground in two games against ECU and Rice.
