On Friday night, the Maine Mariners (2-2) tied the series 2-2 with a 4-0 win over the Reading Royals (2-2) in game four of the ECHL playoffs at the Cross Insurance Arena.
There were no goals scored in the first period. In the second period, the Mariners took a 1-0 lead with less than a minute left in the second period by former Phantom Nick Master (2) with assists from Mathew Santos and Andrew Peski.
Five minutes and thirty-eight seconds into the third period, Mariners’ forward Alex Kile (1), who just returned from Lehigh Valley, scored a power-play goal that extended Maine’s lead 2-0 with assists from Mathew Santos and Zach Malatesta.
Mariners’ forward Cameron Askew (2) scored a power-play goal with less than three minutes left, extending the Mariners lead 3-0 with assists from Alex Kile and Zach Malatesta.
Finally, Mariners’ forward Keltie Jeri-Leon (1) scored an empty-net goal that sealed the game 4-0 with an assist from Conner Bleackley.
The Royals finished the game with 32 shots, 0/4 on the power-play, and Logan Flodell made 22 of 25 saves.
