On Saturday night, the Reading Royals won game one of the second round of the ECHL playoffs over the Newfoundland Growlers 7-3 at the Santander Arena.

Reading Royals’ forward Trevor Gooch scored a hat trick, while Frank Dichiara scored two goals. Royals’ forwards Kevin Conley and Dominic Cormier scored one goal.

For the Growlers, Gordie Green, Isaac Johnson, and Marc Johnstone scored for Newfoundlander.

The Royals finished the night with 31 shots, 1/4 on the power-play, and Pat Nagle made 28 of 31 saves.
