Edmonton Elks signs three players, including Wester Chester DL Fulani Freeman

The Edmonton Elks signed former West Chester defensive lineman Fulani Freeman on Monday. In addition, the Elks signed former Utah State wide receiver Devin Heckstall and former Central Michigan defensive lineman Nathan Brisson-Fast.

Fulani Freeman (23-years-old) played two seasons (2019, 2021) at West Chester University with 20 tackles, 4.5 sacks, one pass breakup, and one fumble recovery in 16 games. The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, native had nine tackles and three sacks in eight games during the 2021 season. Before West Chester, Freeman played at Valley Forge Military Academy.

Devin Heckstall (23-years-old) played the 2021 season at UVA Wise with 42 catches for 751-yards and six touchdowns in 11 games. Heckstall played one season at Utah State (2018) with four catches for 15-yards. The Baltimore, Maryland, native also played at Los Angeles Valley Community College (2016-17) with 17 catches for 298-yards and one touchdown.

Nathan Brisson-Fast (25-years-old) played four seasons at Central Michigan (2015-18) with 82 tackles, ten sacks, two pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 46 games. In 2018, he was named All-Mid-American Conference Third Team.

The Ferndale, Michigan, native played eight games with 31 tackles, 2.5 sacks, one pass breakup, and two forced fumbles in eight games before suffering a season-ending injury.
