On Tuesday night, the Reading Royals took a 2-1 series lead with a 3-1 win over the Newfoundland Growlers at the Mary Browns Centre.
The Royals scored two goals in the first inning by Brayden Low (3) with an assist from Brennan Saulnier at 2:38. Then, at 13:31, Mason Millman (1) scored his first goal in the playoffs with assists from Thomas Ebbing and Trevor Gooch.
There were no goals scored in the second period. The Growlers cut the Royals lead 2-1 forty-seven seconds in the third period by Jeremy McKenna (2) with assists from Noel Hoefenmayer and Ben Finkelstein. Finally, the Royals put the game away at 19:37 with a power-play goal by Thomas Ebbing (2) with an assist from Dominic Cormier.
The Royals finished the night with 25 shots, 0/5 on the power-play, and Pat Nagle made 33 of 34 saves.
