The Reading Royals could not close out the series on Thursday night and were defeated by the Newfoundland Growlers 5-1 at Mary Brown’s Centre. The Royals lead the series 3-2.
Growlers’ forward Pavel Gogolev scored two goals, while Jeremy McKenna, Orrin Centazzo, and Tyler Boland scored one goal. Reading Royals’ forward Thomas Ebbing scored the only goal for Reading.
The Royals finished the night with 25 shots, 1/3 on the power-play, and Pat Nagle made 23 of 28 saves.
