Ottawa Redblacks signs former Elks wide receiver Tevaun Smith

The Ottawa Redblacks signed former Edmonton Elks wide receiver Tevaun Smith on Saturday. The Elks released him on Tuesday.

Tevaun Smith (29-years-old) had 27 catches for 324-yards for the Elks in 2021. He played 30 career games for Edmonton with 82 catches for 956-yards and six touchdowns. The Elks (then Eskimos) drafted Smith in the first round (8th pick) in the 2016 CFL Draft. He caught 55 passes for 632-yards and six touchdowns in his rookie year.

The Toronto, Ontario, native played four seasons at Iowa (2012-15) with 102 catches for 1,500-yards, seven touchdowns, and three carries for 43-yards in 47 games.
