On Monday, the Toronto Argonauts signed former Notre Dame and Toledo linebacker Jonathan Jones while releasing former Acadia wide receiver Matt Gledhill.
Jonathan Jones (22-years-old) had 97 tackles, four sacks, three pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 2021 with Toledo.
The Ocoee, Florida, native played three seasons at Notre Dame (2017-19) with 16 tackles on special teams in 38 games. After Notre Dame, Jones transferred to Toledo and spent two seasons (2020-21) with 116 tackles, four sacks, three pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 19 games.
Matt Gledhill (24-years-old) caught 18 passes for 284-yards, two touchdowns, and four carries for 16-yards in six games with Acadia.
The Ottawa, Ontario, native spent six years at Acadia (2016-21) with 52 catches for 805-yards, seven touchdowns, and nine carries for 25-yards in 22 games.
