On Sunday afternoon at Protective Stadium, the Birmingham Stallions (6-0) secured a playoff spot with a 26-16 win over the Pittsburgh Maulers (1-6).
Stallions’ quarterback J’Mar Smith was 9/24 for 138 yards, no touchdowns, one interception, and five carries for nine yards.
Birmingham running back Bobby Holly had one carry for 52 yards and one touchdown while running back Bo Scarbrough had 27 carries for 100 yards. Wide receiver Victor Bolden Jr. had one catch for 53 yards, and the defense allowed 199 yards, 62 tackles, three sacks, and three pass breakups. Stallions’ kicker Brandon Aubrey made four fields.
Maulers’ quarterback Vad Lee was 6/14 for 58 yards while running back Madre London had 18 carries for 99 yards and one touchdown. The Maulers’ defense allowed 318 yards, 63 tackles, three sacks, one interception, and six pass breakups. Maulers’ kicker Ramiz Ahmed made three out of four field goals.
