On May 20th, former Lehigh Valley Phantoms forward Maksim Sushko signed with HC Dynamo Moscow of the Kontinental Hockey League. Dynamo Moscow went 30-14-4 during the 2021-22 season and lost in the Conference Semifinals to CSKA Moscow in the playoffs.
Maksim Sushko (23-years-old) scored ten goals and seven assists (17 points) last season for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in 63 games.
His best season with the Phantoms came during his rookie year in the 2019-20 season under then head coach Scott Gordon with 11 goals and ten assists (21 points) in 53 games.
The Brest, Belarus, native played three seasons in Lehigh Valley with 21 goals and 17 assists (38 points) in 125 games.
The Flyers drafted Sushko in the fourth round (107th pick) in the 2017 NHL Draft. Sushko played two games for the Flyers during the 2020-21 season.
This will be the second time that Sushko has played in the KHL. During the 2020-21 season, Sushko played for the Dinamo Minsk with two goals and three assists (5 points) in 30 games, helping them win the Belarus Cup.
