On Wednesday, the Philadelphia Stars announced the signing of former Fresno State offensive lineman Alex Akingbulu. Meanwhile, Stars’ quarterback Bryan Scott was transferred to injured reserve.
Alex Akingbulu (23-years-old) recently attended the Dallas Cowboys rookie minicamp. He played 13 games in 2021 for Fresno State at right tackle. The Bulldogs’ offense were ranked 14th in FBS, averaging 464.85 offensive yards per game. Fresno State averaged 33.4 points per game, averaging 137.2 rushing yards per game and 326.7 passing yards per game. He was named a first-team All-Mountain West nominee.
The Carson, California, native began his collegiate career at UCLA (2016-17) but did not see playing due to rehabbing an injury. Akingbulu transferred to Fresno State but had to sit out a year and spent three seasons with the Bulldogs (2019-21), playing 22 games.
In 2019, he played seven games and was a primary field goal coverage contributor. Then in 2020, he played two games at left tackle and was named to the Fall Academic All-Mountain West team.
Bryan Scott (26-years-old) played three games for the Stars with 60-85 completions for 558 yards, five touchdowns, two interceptions, nine carries for 23-yards, and one touchdown before suffering a knee and ankle injury against the New Jersey Generals.
